Martin had an unwavering hope in God. He trusted in the power of God to save us, which is revealed in the Gospel. With Mary he believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken by the Lord. He relied on God, our loving Father, to give us everything we need. Above all he trusted that he would be granted the grace of final perseverance and of a happy death.
Dear Saint Martin, obtain for us from God and His holy Mother Mary an unwavering hope so that we may trust in God’s care for us in all the events of this life and securely expect from Him the supreme grace of final perseverance and of a happy death.
