You are who you are for a reason….
by *Russell Kelfer

You are who you are for a reason.
You’re part of an intricate plan.
You’re a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb.
You’re just what He wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones He chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,
And they bear the Master’s seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into His likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!

 The Bible says , “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for . Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up , he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living , part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone”

Ephesians 1:11

I am your creator. You were in my care even before you were born.

Isaiah 44:2a (cev)

“The Bible says God will fulfill his purpose for me “

Psalm 138

You know me inside out you know every bone of my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something”

Psalm 139:15-24

” You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Everyday was recorded in your Book!

Psalm 139:16

“Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love.”

Humanae Vitae

“God decided to give us life through the Word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made.”

James 1:18

do not be afraidI have carried you since you were born ; I have taken care of you from your birth. Even when you are old. I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned grey. I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you”

Isaiah 46;3

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

Padre Pio

“Satan dreads nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, he mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.”

Samuel Chadwick

 Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

“Obedience, fasting, and prayer are laughed at, yet only through them lies the way to real true freedom. I cut off my superfluous and unnecessary desires, I subdue my proud and wanton will and chastise it with obedience, and with God’s help I attain freedom of spirit and with it spiritual joy.”

Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

“In the silence of the heart God speaks. If you face God in prayer and silence, God will speak to you. Then you will know that you are nothing. It is only when you realize your nothingness, your emptiness, that God can fill you with Himself. Souls of prayer are souls of great silence.”

Mother Teresa, In the Heart of the World: Thoughts, Stories and Prayers

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.”

Mother Teresa

“For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.”

Thérèse de Lisieuux

“I used unexpectedly to experience a consciousness of the presence of God, or such a kind that I could not possibly doubt that He was within me or that I was wholly engulfed in Him. This was in no sense a vision: I believe it is called mystical theology. The soul is suspended in such a way that it seems to be completely outside itself. The will loves; the memory, I think, is almost lost; while the understanding, I believe, thought it is not lost, does not reason—I mean that it does not work, but is amazed at the extent of all it can understand; for God wills it to realize that it understands nothing of what His Majesty represents to it.”

Teresa of Ávila, The Life of Saint Teresa of Ávila by Herself

Humanae Vitae

I invite you to pray………

“My child, I am the Lord Who gives strength in the day of trouble. Come to Me when all is not well with you. Your tardiness in turning to prayer is the greatest obstacle to heavenly consolation, for before you pray earnestly to Me you first seek many comforts and take pleasure in outward things. Thus, all things are of little profit to you until you realize that I am the one Who saves those who trust in Me, and that outside of Me there is no worth-while help, or any useful counsel or lasting remedy.”

Thomas à Kempis, The Imitation of Christ

  1. Our Lord said where two or three are gathered together there I am in the midst. I would like to start by praying for guidance as I look for a new direction in my life.

  2. “Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
    Where there is injury, pardon;
    Where there is doubt, faith;
    Where there is despair, hope;
    Where there is darkness, light;
    And where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console,
    to be understood as to understand,
    to be loved, as to love.

    For it is in giving that we receive,
    It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”
    ― Francis of Assisi
