EIGHTH DAY:
Martin died when he was sixty years of age. He had worked hard and faithfully prayed. He had died to false love of self through a whole hearted love of God expressed in loving service of the needy and the suffering. He lives now in the glory of God, sharing in the blessedness which is the reward of all those who serve God faithfully in this life.
PRAYER:
Dear Saint Martin, obtain for us from God and His holy Mother Mary that we may so follow your example of humility and love of God and neighbour that, like you, we, too, may die truly sorry for our sins, and in the love and friendship of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
